Today 5-19-2015 at Clopper Lake

Well, it was pretty nice out....Clopper Lake
I am just crusin along... nothing much

I start getting sucked towards the potomac river overpass where it says do not enter...... and I notice a lot of trash and
something moving...   oh my
He is pretty dirty  I can't imagine what he thinks of humans

His eyes look kinda red... usually they look golden yellow...
He seems a little better here... sorry it is blurry
He is probably saying "This Trash is ridiculously...even the turtles can't get around!!"
Let's just shake this ick off my legs and I am out of here!

"Oh, Man I feel sorry for the turtles!"
 This Turtle is okay!
Well it looks like that pile of turtles fell on each other... I got to get out of here before I get all muddy again!

Found a nice brown and white duck
Headed back
Another one-Green and Red- Didn't look real!!

Permits and info for WSSC Reservoir

I personally like to go to the access N.off Georgia Ave beyond New Hampshire intersection just turn right on Tridelphia.... There is easy launch plenty of parking and a picnic area with a view... good for all companions..  Over 64 you still have to get a permit, but it doesn't cost you anything and you can get it at the Brighton Dam office - if you are paying for permit online available through one of these links.  Just like DNR fishing licenses just pin it to your fishing hat with your fishing license and or your boating permits.

Black Hill Regional 5-17-2015

So, I went out even though it was kind of drizzling spitting.  My partners in crime were coming from Virginia and thought it was going to Thunderstorm Sunday, so I just went on....

A bit overcast early, but...
Sunny enough for the usual sunbathers to slither out
They appeared to be fighting over the great spot on the tree
Saw a new little fisherman I had not seen before...
Like a shrunken Heron, but a yellow splotch on his head
The usual stretching to pretend he is a reed... uh duh
Then he would turn and beauty to behold!
got in the water and did some fishing!
Watch that fish go down that neck
Seems simpler just spearing the fish with your nose and mouth!
Ready aim and fire!
I think he stopped and sharpened his beak!!
There was a crowd out on the water when the sun came out!!
It cleared up beautifully!!

Black Hill Regional - 5-15-2015

Well, I had a really nice afternoon paddling around more than fishing... and
it was beautiful... plus some of my old friends were hanging around fishing when they weren't flying around....
One of the few of the view... not birds
These guys were out on their favorite downed trees sunning..
Appeared to be looking for fish..... and then
Not quick enough to get the fish picture before he swallows it!

Closing in

So Picturesque
